Svanehøj wins gas pump order for 15 LNG dual-fuel container vessels

Orders for dual-fuel LNG vessels broke all information in 2021 with a complete of 240 ships globally. That is more than the earlier 4 years mixed. And growth appears set to continue unabated in 2022.
According to data from classification society DNV, orders for 56 dual-fuel LNG vessels have been positioned in January and February.This change in demand has created quite a buzz at Svanehøj. The Danish marine pump specialist quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell gasoline pumps in 2021, and there are lots of indications that sales could enhance even additional in 2022.
Svanehøj has simply secured an order for fuel pump methods for 15 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7,000 TEU), which are to be constructed at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding. The complete of 30 deepwell gas pumps might be delivered from August 2022 to January 2024. The order is among Svanehøj’s largest relating to LNG gas to date. Large investment in lean manufacturing and new tools
To help the green transition of the maritime trade, Svanehøj is presently investing more than DKK 10 million in upgrading its production services in Denmark. A new factory layout with manufacturing cells and robotics will help Svanehøj’s bold growth strategy and cut back lead instances for all merchandise.
“We have made a strategic determination to implement lean manufacturing. By rethinking our processes, we expect to increase productivity and capacity by as much as 50%,” says Mikkel Bülow Bundgaard Sørensen, Lean Specialist, Svanehøj.
Svanehøj has entered 2022 with a new strategy and a goal of doubling its turnover to DKK 1 billion ($152 million) by the tip of 2026. In addition to gas pumps for LNG, LPG, and carbon-neutral fuels, Svanehøj sees great potential in developing pump options for the infrastructure to be constructed around Power-to-X and carbon seize and storage (CCS).
