Atlas Copco to accumulate Wangen Pumpen

Key has agreed to amass the German industrial pump producer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal fairness agency Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen within the Allgäu region of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used primarily within the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for food and beverage and cosmetics purposes.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing services in Germany, a US subsidiary and a global gross sales and repair footprint. The firm employs 265 people and had 2020 revenues of approximately €46.4 million.
“Industrial pumps is a segment that we’ve identified as a strategic fit for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has leading differentiated technology with a powerful aftermarket enterprise,” said Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique enterprise area. “Wangen Pumpen is a powerful brand and is thought for high quality in demanding industrial purposes. This acquisition will create a strong basis for further progress in new industrial pump segments.”
The acquired enterprise will turn out to be a part of the Power and Flow division inside Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
The deal is anticipated to be accomplished through the second quarter of 2022 and is topic to regulatory approvals.
